Multivariate analysis on hydrochemical change of groundwater around large underground facility

Iwatsuki, Teruki; Mizuno, Takashi; Hagiwara, Hiroki; Shingu, Shinya; Omori, Kazuaki; Fukuda, Akari

no journal, ,

Multivariative analysis have carried out to estimate artificial hydrochemical impact during large underground facility construction. The calculation shows that the hydrochemical change of groundwater with time has caused by the change of mixing ratio among end-member water.

Reactive-transport evaluation for alteration of granite under alkaline conditions

Kirino, Yusuke*; Nakashima, Satoru*; Yokoyama, Tadashi*; Sasamoto, Hiroshi

no journal, ,

Cementitious grout materials will be used to reduce groundwater inflow during excavation and construction of drifts for deep geological disposal of high lever radioactive waste. High alkaline solution derived from cementitious materials could alter the host rock surrounding the engineered barriers. In the present study, the experiments of interactions between the alkaline solution and the granitic rock (10 $$times$$ 10 $$times$$ 5 mm block sample) were conducted to understand the evolution of rock properties. The surface of granitic block sample is assumed the fresh fracture surface and the inside of block sample is regarded as rock matrix. Evolution and distribution of alteration products were estimated by both the accelerated laboratory experiments and the computer simulations considering reactive-transport processes.

Accumulation of Cs by basidiomycetes

Onuki, Toshihiko; Ebata, Daizo*; Sakamoto, Fuminori; Kozai, Naofumi; Yamasaki, Shinya; Shiina, Kazuhiro; Kanno, Takashi

no journal, ,

Accumulation of Cs in basidiomycetes has been studied by analysis of SEM. The SEM analysis showed that Cs was accumulated in fungal hypha. Elemetal analysis indicated that Cs accumulated in the hypha of Lentinula was higher than K, suggesting high performance of Lentinula for Cs uptake.

Remediation test of radioactive Cs by basidiomycetes

Shiina, Kazuhiro; Kanno, Takashi; Sakamoto, Fuminori; Kozai, Naofumi; Yamasaki, Shinya; Onuki, Toshihiko

no journal, ,

We have studied accumulation of radioactive Cs from forest litter. In this report, we grew basidiomycetes in laboratory and in forest litter. The growth of basidiomycetes in the laboratory caused an increase of radioactivity by about 2 times in soil containing hyphae than the soil without hyphae. In the forest litter experiment showed growth of hyphae at present.

The Chemistry state in the plant of radioactive fallout origin Cs

Kanno, Takashi; Kozai, Naofumi; Sakamoto, Fuminori; Yamasaki, Shinya; Shiina, Kazuhiro; Onuki, Toshihiko

no journal, ,

In order to clarify the migration behavior of radioactive Cs in the environment, the chemical states of radioactive Cs accumulated on the branches and staminate flower of plants was examined by autoradiography and sequential extraction techniques. The results showed that radioactive Cs concentration depends on the growth time of the branch of a Japan cedar or a staminate flower.
